"Every home should belong to its land." — Steve Curtis

Designs by Steve Curtis

Steve Curtis began his career in mechanical design, building a precise foundation in CAD and technical problem-solving. His move into residential design grew through direct work with builders — translating ideas into plans that were not just well-composed, but genuinely buildable. By 2005, that momentum had become a full-time practice.

That construction grounding shapes everything. Rather than designing from the outside in, Steve studies how homes are assembled, how materials behave, and how design decisions play out on a job site. The result is work that is both visually compelling and practical to build.

At the core of that work is a focus on rooflines as the primary driver of form — organizing massing through gable systems, dormers, and layered configurations to create homes that feel cohesive, intentional, and grounded.

These aren't decorative decisions. They anchor a home to its land, allowing the design to respond naturally to topography, views, and the way the space is meant to be lived in. Every project begins with the site and the client — no signature style, no imposed aesthetic. The work speaks for itself.

The Principles Behind the Work

Every home is guided by three core beliefs.

Land-First Design

Every site is unique. The process begins with understanding the topography, sun patterns, views, and natural character of your property — then designing a home that grows from that foundation, rather than being placed upon it.

Vision-Led Collaboration

Your vision is the starting point, not a constraint. Steve listens closely, asks the right questions, and translates your lifestyle and aspirations into spaces that feel like they were always meant to be yours.

Clarity Through Technology

With photorealistic 3D renderings, sun and shadow studies, and accurate terrain modeling, there are no surprises. You'll see and understand exactly what you're building — in every detail — before a single stake is driven.

Tools of
the Trade

Advanced 3D CAD tools and photorealistic rendering bring every detail to life — with unparalleled accuracy — long before construction begins.

03

Sun & Shadow Studies

Precise solar analysis ensures your home is optimally placed — maximizing natural light, minimizing unwanted shade, and informing smarter decisions about orientation, windows, and outdoor living.

04

Architectural Blueprints

Construction-ready blueprints and a full renderings package that clearly communicates your design to builders, contractors, and permit offices — ensuring your vision translates faithfully to the finished home.
